Glascoed Ancient Village

Walking among the circular house foundations, you can still make out hearths, doorways and storage areas from over 2,000 years ago. The settlement layout tells the story of a thriving community that chose this elevated spot for good reason - the views across to Snowdonia are spectacular on a clear day.

History buffs will love piecing together daily life from the visible remains, though families with young children might find it harder going. There's plenty of scrambling over uneven ground and not much to hold shorter attention spans beyond the initial excitement of 'finding treasure'.

The site works brilliantly as part of a broader Anglesey exploration, particularly if you're staying at one of the holiday parks near Caernarfon like Snowdon View or Plas Gwyn. It's easily combined with a trip to Caernarfon Castle or the beaches at Dinas Dinlle.
