What makes this spot special is the sheer isolation. No ticket booth, no crowds, just you and the ghosts of ancient Wales. The views across to Snowdonia are cracking on a clear day, and the short walk from the road gives your legs a gentle stretch.

Locationwise, you're well placed for exploring this corner of North Wales. Caernarfon with its famous castle sits just across the Menai Strait, while several holiday parks dot the area around Llanrug and Waunfawr. Glan Gwna Holiday Park and Bryn Gloch Caravan & Camping Park are both within easy striking distance if you're basing yourself on the mainland. Allow an hour unless you're a proper archaeology enthusiast - then you could easily spend half a morning here.
