Devil's Bridge Viewpoint

The three bridges stacked one on top of another are the real draw here - each built decades apart as the river carved deeper into the gorge below. You're looking at layers of Victorian engineering, quite literally. The viewpoint itself sits above the Mynach Falls, where the water drops something fierce through a narrow chasm, and on a grey Welsh day - which is most days - the mist rolls through the gorge in a way that feels properly dramatic.

It's a short walk from the car park, maybe ten minutes down to the viewing platform. The path is well-trodden and family-friendly, though steep enough that smaller legs might need a hand on the way back up. You can see all three bridges from the vantage point, and if you've got time and energy, the walk down to the bridge itself takes another twenty minutes or so - the rocks get slippery when damp, which is always.

Walkers and geology types will find it worthwhile. Kids will get a decent thrill from the scale of the drop and the roaring water, though expect an hour maximum before they're ready to move on. There's no charge for the viewpoint itself, and no facilities at the spot - the nearest town is Aberystwyth, about fifteen minutes away for a cup of tea afterwards.
