Staying at one of the holiday parks scattered around the valley makes perfect sense. You're well-positioned for day trips to Lake Vyrnwy, just half an hour north, or the market town of Welshpool. The surrounding countryside offers proper hill walking without the crowds you'll find in Snowdonia, and red kites wheel overhead on most days - a sight that never gets old in these parts.
