It's worth a decent look if you're already in Grange-over-Sands itself, though I wouldn't suggest it as a standalone day trip. History buffs and railway spotters will squeeze more out of it than families with young kids, though toddlers often find a real operating station far more exciting than any replica.

If you're staying at one of the nearby caravan parks - Meathop Fell, Holgates, or Willow Tree are all within a couple of miles - this pairs nicely with a ramble along the coastal path or a wander through the town centre. Free to look around, naturally.
