Golf in North Wales doesn't get much better than Abersoch. The course sits on the Llyn Peninsula near Pwllheli, where the fairways roll down towards Cardigan Bay and you get proper sea views on half the holes. It's a links-style layout - nothing too brutal, but it demands respect from your swing.

You'll need a handicap certificate or to book through a club, so this isn't somewhere you just rock up and play. The membership-focused setup keeps the crowds manageable, which means the course stays in cracking condition year-round. Allow three to four hours for a round, longer if you're the type to linger over every shot.

This is squarely for golfers rather than casual visitors. If you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks - NightSky Glamping or Tal-y-Fan are closest at under three miles away - and you actually play, book ahead. The Pwllheli area has plenty going on beyond golf, but the course itself rewards skill and punishes sloppiness. Bring a decent waterproof; coastal Wales means weather changes fast.
