Beanhill Coppice

Walking into Beanhill Coppice feels like stepping back into ancient Warwickshire. This is proper woodland - the sort with a real sense of age, where the trees seem to have been here for centuries and probably have. It's a small forest rather than a sprawling nature reserve, which means you won't get lost for hours, but you'll still feel properly away from things.

The paths are straightforward enough, threading through mixed woodland with plenty of shade even in summer. On a quiet weekday morning you might not see another soul. The coppice itself tells a working story - this has been managed forestry for generations, not just left to run wild. That matters if you're interested in how English woodland actually functions rather than just wanting pretty scenery.

If you're based at Stratford-upon-Avon Lodge Retreat or any of the larger sites like Stratford Parks, Beanhill makes an easy morning sortie - far less touristy than tramping round Warwick town centre, and honestly more rewarding if you want a proper walk rather than gift shops.
