Wilkin Hill

You're looking at a couple of hours round trip from the nearest parking, depending on your pace. The real appeal here is how quickly you can escape the city bustle - you're barely outside Sheffield's sphere before the landscape opens up. Walkers will appreciate it far more than casual visitors; this isn't a destination where you pitch up for an afternoon and call it done. Bring proper boots though. The moorland can be boggy, and once the weather turns it becomes genuinely exposed.

Sunset from up there is decent if the clouds cooperate, which they often don't in Derbyshire. Go anyway.
