Walton Hill

Standing at just 214 metres, this modest summit delivers proper views across the Fife countryside without requiring serious hiking boots. The walk up from the car park takes about 20 minutes through mixed woodland, and while it's not exactly challenging, there's enough of a gradient to make you feel you've earned the panorama at the top.

Families with older children will find this a cracking introduction to hill walking - young enough legs can manage it, but toddlers might struggle with the uneven path. The summit itself is fairly open, offering sweeping views towards Cupar and the surrounding farmland. On clear days, you can spot the Ochil Hills in the distance.

What makes Walton Hill particularly appealing for a holiday park base is its accessibility. From Annsmuir Parkhome and Holiday Home Park or the nearby Wigwam Holidays at Montrave Estate, it's an easy morning excursion that won't eat up your entire day. The woodland walk means it's pleasant even in light drizzle - though save the summit push for clearer weather to make the most of those views.

Allow around an hour and a half return, including time to admire the scenery. It's free, naturally, and there's limited parking at the base. Nothing spectacular, but a lovely leg-stretcher that gives you a proper taste of Fife's gentler landscapes.
