Struthers Castle

Four sturdy stone towers are all that remain of this 15th-century castle, standing defiant in a farmer's field just outside Cupar. Built by the powerful Struthers family, the ruined stronghold feels properly abandoned - sheep graze between the crumbling walls and ivy creeps up the weathered stonework. You can wander freely around the exterior, though the interior is largely inaccessible for safety reasons.
