Stoney the Inukshuk

An inukshuk isn't something you expect to find in the Lake District, but there it is - a proper Inuit stone-stacking sculpture that's become an unlikely focal point near Kendal. It's the work of artist Stoney, who's created this towering figure from locally sourced rocks, and it's become a bit of a talking point among walkers and curious visitors passing through the area.

What you get is a chance to see something genuinely different from the usual Lake District fare. The sculpture itself is striking - that distinctive human-like form made entirely from balanced stones - and it's the sort of thing that makes for good photos.
