Sky Park Outdoor Adventures

The main draw at Sky Park is the zipline - you're harnessed in and sent whizzing across treetops with proper views across County Down. It's the sort of thing that looks terrifying from the ground and feels exhilarating once you're actually airborne. Beyond that, there's a rope course if you fancy testing your balance at height, and various other outdoor challenges dotted around the woodland site.

Adult thrill-seekers and teenagers will get the most from it. Young kids might find the rope course a bit much, though there are usually easier options available. It's not a full day out - realistically you're looking at two to three hours, maybe less if you're only doing the zipline once.

Newry sits just south of the Mourne Mountains, which means you can combine this with proper walking territory. Cranfield Caravan Park and Kilbroney Caravan Park are both within five miles, making it a decent add-on if you're based there for a week. It fills an afternoon slot nicely rather than being a reason to base yourself entirely around Newry.

Check the website for current admission fees and whether you need to book in advance - outdoor adventure parks can get busy at weekends and during school holidays. The site's woodland setting means it's decent even in middling weather, though obviously you'll be outside the whole time. Not essential, but worthwhile if you've got active kids or you're after an adrenaline hit without the theme park crowds.
