Round Hill

Standing at 213 metres above sea level, this modest Worcestershire summit won't trouble serious fell walkers, but it delivers proper views across the Severn Vale without breaking a sweat. The climb from any approach is gentle enough for families with young children, though the final push through woodland can be muddy after rain.

From the top, you'll see across to the Malvern Hills on clear days, with Gloucester spread out below and the river snaking towards Tewkesbury. It's not spectacular, but it's satisfying - the sort of hill that reminds you why a bit of elevation makes all the difference to understanding a landscape.

Walkers will appreciate the various footpath options that lead up here, some starting from villages like Highnam to the south.
