Pengethly Grove

Pengethly Grove feels properly wild - no manicured trails or visitor centres here, just proper English forest where bluebells carpet the floor in spring and fallen leaves crunch underfoot come autumn.

Dog walkers will love the freedom to roam, though keep leads handy as this is active countryside with livestock nearby. The grove makes a lovely hour's detour for families staying at places like Caplor Glamping or White House on Wye - kids can properly explore without the restrictions of formal nature reserves.

Expect muddy boots after rain and bring a map if you're planning longer walks. The woodland connects to footpaths heading towards the River Wye, making it part of a bigger rambling day out.
