About Lord's Seat
It's the sort of fell that rewards you without demanding too much. The path is well-trodden and the ascent, while noticeable, won't wreck your knees like some of the rougher peaks do. Allow two to three hours for the round trip depending on your pace. Walkers and hikers will get the most from it, though the moorland setting means there's something satisfying about it even if you're not a peak-bagger.
The surrounding area works brilliantly for a caravan holiday. Bolton Abbey Estate is barely two and a half miles away and gives you proper moorland access without needing to be based high up. Olicana Park and Draughton Heights are equally convenient bases if you're wanting to explore this stretch of the Pennines. The weather can turn quickly up here, so check the forecast before heading out - there's not much shelter once you're above the tree line.
Skipton itself is a workable starting point with parking available, though it's a bit of a trek to the actual trailhead. Worth doing on a decent weather day rather than banking on luck with the clouds.
