Loch Loran

Midweek mornings are best - weekends can draw a steady stream of locals. The loch works beautifully as part of a wider Argyll holiday. Lochgilphead Caravan Park sits just 3.5 miles away and makes a sensible base, while The Pod Over By - rated top marks by previous guests - is nearly as close. If you're staying in the area, Glendaruel Caravan Park at 6.2 miles also offers solid accommodation. Walkers will get the most from this spot; families with very small children might find the walk a bit long.
