Walkers will find the most value here. Paths wind through the reserve in a way that feels genuine rather than manicured, and you get decent views across the surrounding countryside. It's the sort of place where you notice things - a kestrel overhead, patches of gorse coming into flower, the shift in landscape as you move between habitats. Kids will get a decent hour or two out of it, especially if they're into spotting wildlife, though it won't keep them entertained for a full day on its own.

Honestly, it works best as part of a longer Dartmoor trip rather than a standalone destination.
