Laura's Tower

You'll spot Laura's Tower long before you reach it - a brick tower standing alone on high ground just outside Shrewsbury, commanding views across the Shropshire countryside. Built in the 18th century, it's one of those local landmarks that doesn't get written up in the guidebooks but locals will point you towards without hesitation.

The tower itself is modest in scale but makes an impression. It's primarily a viewpoint, and on a clear day the views justify the walk up.
