What you get here are miles of mixed woodland - oak, birch, and conifers - with the kind of peace that makes you remember why you came to Nottinghamshire in the first place. The paths are straightforward enough for families with younger kids, though muddy patches are guaranteed after rain. Most people allocate an hour or two depending on how far they fancy walking; there's no pressure to complete a circuit. The real value sits in how close it is to everything else around Worksop. You're minutes from Clumber Park and The Sherwood Hideaway, so if you're based at Center Parcs Sherwood Forest or one of the caravan sites nearby, this is a cracking spot for a morning or late-afternoon wander without the crowds. It lacks the manicured appeal of National Trust properties - there's no café, no facilities that I could find - but that's precisely why it works.
