A modest stone church sitting alone in the Northumberland countryside just outside Berwick-upon-Tweed, Hutton Church rewards the small detour off the main roads. The building itself is straightforward - nothing fancy, no soaring Gothic arches or elaborate stonework - but that's rather the point. This is proper rural Northumberland, the kind of place where you'll hear the wind properly and see how sparse it all is up here.
