Hull Pot

The pot itself sits in open moorland above Settle, reached via a straightforward walk from nearby Hardraw Force. The scale is impressive without being showy. On a clear day, you've got sweeping views across Ribblesdale, and the landscape around here feels genuinely remote despite being accessible. Walkers get the most from this one - it's not a sit-down attraction, but rather a natural feature that rewards a bit of legwork.

Allow an hour or so if you're combining it with a walk around the area. There's no visitor centre, no café, just the hole and the hills. That's rather the appeal. This works brilliantly as part of a wider Dales ramble rather than a standalone stop. If you're camping nearby at Ribblesdale Pods or Philpin Farm, it's close enough for a proper morning venture without needing the car again. The walk itself is the thing here - muddy boots and weather-beaten views included. Worth the detour if you're already in the valley, less so as a special trip on its own.
