Gordon Law sits about 2.4 miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed, and it's one of those walks that rewards you far more than the climb suggests. The peak itself isn't dramatic - you're looking at moorland slopes that build gradually rather than spike suddenly - but once you're up there, the views across the Scottish Borders are properly expansive. On a clear day you can see right across to the Cheviot Hills, and west toward the Lammermuirs. The walk takes about an hour from the nearest carpark, depending on your pace and how many times you stop to catch your breath on the way up.

It's genuinely worth doing if you're staying at any of the caravan sites around Berwick - Chainbridge Touring is the closest at just over two miles away, while Haven Berwick Holiday Centre and Berwick Seaview are within easy driving distance. The terrain is open moorland, so it's exposed; wind can be vicious up top, and weather rolls in fast. Go early if you can. Walkers will love it, families with older kids (say, eight and up) can manage it without too much whingeing, though younger ones might find the moorland a bit samey. There's not much shelter once you're up there, so pack waterproofs as standard and bring more water than you think you'll need. The whole outing takes two to three hours if you're not rushing and want to sit at the top with a flask. Free to access, obviously - it's a hill.
