Gib Torr Rocks

The rocks themselves are a proper scramble - dark gritstone outcrops that jut out of the moorland with enough drama to make the walk worthwhile. You're looking at a short but steep climb from the Leek side, and the payoff is a decent vantage point across the Staffordshire moorlands, especially on a clear day when you can pick out the ridges rolling toward the Peak District.

It's the kind of spot walkers and peak baggers genuinely enjoy. The scramble appeals to anyone with decent boots and a bit of fitness; families with young children might find the scramble itself more interesting than standing around admiring views. There's not much else at the summit - no café, no visitor centre - so you're here for the climb, the rock formations, and the wider landscape.

Allow an hour or so from Leek town centre for the walk up and a proper look around. Best done on a day when the clouds aren't sitting on the moor, otherwise it feels a bit flat. The sandstone and grit make it worthwhile geology stuff too if you're into that.

The nearby caravan parks - Peak Glamping Hideaway, Blackshaw Moor, and Camping at The Hollies are all within a couple of miles, making this an easy add-on to a broader moorland walking holiday. You could comfortably combine it with other walks in the area without it feeling like a detour.
