Digley Reservoir

The water's dark and still when you arrive at Digley Reservoir, ringed by moorland that rolls away toward the Pennines. It suits walkers far more than families with young kids looking for a proper day out. You won't find facilities or attractions around the water itself, so bring what you need. The nearest town is Holmfirth, a decent enough spot with cafes and pubs where you can warm up afterwards.

If you're camping at Secret Valley Escapes or Whitegate Leisure just up the road, this makes an easy morning walk without heading far from base.
