Ord House Country Park sits practically on your doorstep at just 0.2 miles, while Haven Berwick Holiday Centre and the Seaview Caravan Club site are within easy striking distance for a base. Haven Haggerston Castle, further south, gives you another option if you want slightly different surroundings.

There's no pretence here - it's working countryside where nature happens rather than gets carefully curated. Bring waterproofs (this is Northumberland), decent boots, and realistic expectations about facilities. Early morning visits tend to be best for spotting wildlife. The reserve costs nothing to access and you can spend as little or as much time here as suits your energy levels.
