Castle Vale Park

Castle Vale Park is a proper nature reserve just outside Berwick-upon-Tweed, and it's the sort of place that rewards a quiet morning walk rather than a rushed visit. The reserve protects grassland and woodland habitat in a fairly modest but genuinely pleasant pocket of Northumberland countryside - you won't find dramatic cliffs or sweeping vistas, but you will find peace and a decent chance of spotting birds and small mammals if you're patient.
