Bream Wood

A proper woodland walk just outside Bridlington, Bream Wood offers a straightforward escape into trees without the fanfare. The forest floor is well-trodden, paths are clear, and you'll find yourself moving through mixed woodland - nothing exotic, but honest stuff. Twenty minutes in and you forget the caravan parks are barely ten minutes' drive away.

It's the sort of place families with young children get the most from - enough trails to feel like an adventure without anyone losing patience. Walkers appreciate it too, though don't expect dramatic views or dramatic anything, really. You're here for the trees and the quiet. Bring a bike if you've got one; the paths take it well enough.

No admission fee that we could find, and it's open to the public year-round. A couple of hours is the sweet spot - any longer and you'll have covered the main routes. Spring and autumn work best; summer can get a bit muggy under the canopy.

If you're staying at Bridlington Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite - just half a mile away - this is an obvious leg-stretcher on a rainy afternoon. Flamborough Glamping and Haven Thornwick Bay are also close enough for a quick visit between other things. It won't be the highlight of your park holiday, but it fills a gap nicely.
