Sewerby Park

Sewerby Park sits just outside Bridlington on the Yorkshire coast, a proper working nature reserve that rewards a visit if you're already in the area. The landscape here is chalk grassland and coastal habitats - windswept cliffs, scrubby vegetation, and paths that genuinely feel wild rather than manicured. You'll spot bird hides dotted about, and depending on the season, the birdwatching can be excellent. I've walked it in spring when migrants pass through, and you can spend a peaceful hour or two tracing the trails without bumping into crowds.

It's not a destination that justifies a day trip on its own, if I'm honest. But if you're camping at one of the nearby sites - Bridlington Caravan Club is barely a mile away, or Flamborough Glamping if you want something fancier - then it's absolutely worth a morning walk. The paths are manageable and fairly flat, so it suits families who don't want heavy hill work, though young kids might find it a bit featureless after thirty minutes. Keen birdwatchers and nature photographers will get far more from it than most.

No car park fee that I'm aware of, and no admission charge to explore. Best visited in autumn and spring when bird activity peaks. Check opening hours before you go - it's a working reserve, not a commercial visitor attraction, so access can sometimes be limited during nesting season.
