I’d like to send my utmost gratitude to the ladies at reception who found myself and my husband other accommodation on the site. The lodge was beautiful, warm, clean, all facilities; fitted kitchen, lounge with fire, dining table, newly fitted bathroom with bath and overhead shower and 2 double bedrooms. Big site with lots of lodges. Bit rough round the edges. But a great place to chill out over a weekend. Lodges could be better signposted. Was a nightmare trying to find our lodge in the pitch dark. Food and service were great at the Boathouse.
Our stay was beautiful, returning customers. Freshly filled hot tub, clean pod, quiet off peak time, helpful staff always have a smile. Need to update the information on the website as the Boathouse was not open as advertised online we had arrived before check in and hoped to get a late lunch, Winter open hours are different. A little late reviewing, however here is an honest review from last year. We go to many camping pods and wigwams over the uk and this is the worst we have ever stayed in! The pods need to be throughly cleaned and after each use! There was dirt, dust and dog hairs everywhere. The floors were black couldn’t walk with socks on without socks being covered in black dirt. Lovely location, we gotta deal on booking.com in early October. Showers were hot, good clean toilets, and a good cooking bloke with two cookers, cooking stuff supplied in communal cooking and sitting about house. Very dog friendly.
