Standing at 340 metres, this modest summit offers surprisingly good views across the Shropshire countryside without requiring a proper expedition. The walk up from Willstone takes about 45 minutes through pleasant farmland and patches of woodland, though the final approach can get a bit boggy after rain.

Families with older children will find it manageable - younger ones might flag on the steady climb. Walkers looking for something more challenging than a gentle stroll but less demanding than the Long Mynd peaks will hit the sweet spot here. The panorama from the top stretches towards Church Stretton and beyond on clear days, making it well worth the effort.

Coming in spring gives you the best of the wildflowers along the route, while autumn brings proper colour to the surrounding woods. Allow two to three hours for the round trip, including time to enjoy the summit views and perhaps a sandwich.
