It's the kind of spot where families can spend a good half-day without feeling rushed, though whether you tackle everything depends on ages and ability levels.

The appeal here is straightforward: active families and anyone keen on getting on the water will have a decent time. Younger kids might find some activities a bit daunting, so check what's age-appropriate before you arrive. Walking types won't get much out of it - this is very much about doing rather than wandering and thinking.
