This is an actual cockpit - a sunken arena where, centuries ago, crowds gathered to watch roosters fight. The ground dips down sharply, creating an almost amphitheatre-like space that feels genuinely eerie when you're standing in it, knowing what happened here.

It's a sobering piece of social history. Cockfighting was legal entertainment once, drawing everyone from labourers to gentry.
