Upper Shaw

Upper Shaw is a proper woodland walk just outside Wallingford, the sort of place where you can actually hear yourself think. It's managed woodland rather than a manicured country estate - the trees are dense, the paths wind through beech and oak, and in spring the floor is carpeted with bluebells if you time it right.

It won't be the highlight of your trip, but it's a genuine woodland experience without the tourist crush you'd get at bigger attractions. Honest walking, that's all it is.
