Two Victorian churches sitting side by side in Meole Brace, just outside Shrewsbury - that's the unusual draw here. Most visitors pass by without realising what they're looking at: these aren't ruins or ancient monuments, but a genuine oddity of 19th-century church architecture.

The Trinity Churches were built in the 1840s-50s during a period when Meole Brace was developing as a suburb. Rather than demolish the original church, the Victorians simply built a second one next to it. Walk around and you'll spot the contrasting stonework and architectural styles that mark each building's era - it's the sort of thing that makes you stop and think about why anyone would do this.
