Tor Bay

Rocky headlands frame this dramatic stretch of coastline where the Gower Peninsula meets the Bristol Channel. Tor Bay sits between Oxwich and Three Cliffs Bay, offering a quieter alternative to those more famous spots while delivering equally stunning views across the water.

Walkers will find this the perfect halfway point on the Wales Coast Path, with decent parking at Oxwich making it accessible without too much effort. The bay itself is sandy at low tide but gets swallowed by incoming waters - timing matters if you fancy a proper explore of the rock pools.

Families staying at nearby Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park or Oxwich Camping Park will appreciate having another coastal option within easy reach. Kids love scrambling over the limestone outcrops, though keep an eye on smaller ones near the cliff edges. The views back towards Swansea Bay on a clear day are properly spectacular.

Photographers rate this spot for sunset shots, particularly in winter when you get the bay largely to yourself. Summer brings more crowds, but nothing like the chaos at Rhossili. Allow a couple of hours to walk the headland properly and maybe combine it with a trip to nearby Oxwich Castle ruins.
