The Stone Jetty

The Stone Jetty sits right on Morecambe's waterfront, a proper working gallery housed in a Victorian structure that's seen better days but all the better for it. The space itself is as much part of the show as what's hanging on the walls - all exposed brick and industrial bones with views across the bay that frankly shouldn't be wasted on a blank white gallery wall. Artists and craftspeople use it properly, and the rotation keeps things fresh.

This is gold for anyone staying at Bay View Holiday Park or Parkdean Resorts Ocean Edge nearby. It's a natural complement to a seaside break without feeling obligatory. You won't need more than 45 minutes unless there's a show that completely grabs you, which does happen. Free entry, last I checked, which is refreshingly honest for a Lancashire coastal stop.

It works best for adults after a clifftop walk, or anyone genuinely interested in what local makers are doing right now. Kids might find it a bit thin unless they're the type who engage with art anyway. Worth the wander down to the seafront though, particularly on a blustery afternoon when you want something proper to do beyond the amusement arcades.
