Teddy Bear Hole

The Teddy Bear Hole is exactly what it sounds like - a small cave tucked into the cliffs near Bridlington where someone, at some point, left a teddy bear. It's become one of those odd, slightly folksy East Yorkshire attractions that people talk about more than the cave itself warrants.

You'll find it carved into the chalk cliffs along the coast, and it's genuinely tiny. The bear sits inside, weathered and faded, a bit sad-looking if you're honest. Kids find it thrilling for about ten minutes. Adults find it charming in a "I can't believe we drove here" sort of way. The real appeal isn't the cave or the bear - it's the clifftop walk to reach it and the views back towards Bridlington.

It's free, which helps. Allow maybe half an hour total if you're making it a proper outing with the walk. Go when the weather's decent because these Yorkshire cliffs get properly grim in the rain, and there's nothing worse than trudging through mud for a photo of a sodden toy.

It works as a quick morning trip before heading to one of the proper attractions, or a gentle wander if someone's had enough of the holiday park. Don't expect magic, but it's an oddly British thing to seek out - the sort of place you'll remember more fondly in hindsight than you do while standing there.
