Standing at 610 metres, this is the northernmost peak over 2,000 feet in Wales - a proper milestone for anyone working their way through the Welsh hills. The summit offers spectacular views across the Menai Strait to Anglesey on clear days, with Snowdon's peaks visible to the south.

Walkers typically approach from Penmaenmawr via the Roman road, though the route can be boggy in places and requires decent boots. The climb takes about two hours up, less coming down, and while it's not technically difficult, the pathways aren't always obvious - proper map reading helps here.

Families with older children who are used to hill walking will manage fine, but this isn't one for pushchairs or casual strollers. The weather changes quickly up here, so pack layers even on promising days.

From holiday parks like Cefn Cae Campsite or Craiglwyd Hall near Penmaenmawr, it makes a decent half-day adventure. The coastal position means you could combine it with beach time - a nice contrast after the effort of getting up here. Worth doing if you're serious about Welsh peaks, though casual visitors might find the nearby coastal paths more rewarding.
