Standing at 300 metres, this modest hill above Penmaenmawr offers rewarding views across the Menai Strait without the slog of tackling Snowdon. The walk up takes about 45 minutes through rough grassland and heather - proper walking boots essential as the path gets boggy after rain.

From the top, you'll see Anglesey spread out to the west and the dramatic coastline stretching towards Llanfairfechan. It's not spectacular, but on a clear day the panorama is well worth the effort. The ascent starts near the village and follows a reasonably marked trail, though navigation skills help in misty conditions.

Walkers and families with older children will get the most from this outing. Anyone expecting Lakeland drama might feel a bit disappointed - this is North Wales at its more gentle. The climb's manageable for reasonably fit folk, though toddlers would struggle with the terrain.
