If the weather's decent, it's worth the detour on foot from Birchington itself. The slope back up can be a bit steep for what it is, mind you, so save energy for the climb out. Best to check opening times and admission costs before you visit, as these can vary seasonally. Spring and early summer are cracking times to go - the chalk flora's at its best and you won't be swimming in visitors.
