You're looking at around 420 feet of elevation, which sounds negligible until you're stood on top of it scanning the flatlands rolling away in every direction. The walk up takes twenty minutes, maybe half an hour depending on your pace, and it's straightforward enough for families without being boring for actual hikers.

What makes it worth the trip is the visibility on a clear day. From Newark - just a short drive north - you can reach Stubton Hill without much fuss, and the views across the Vale of Belvoir are genuinely impressive when the weather's on your side. The hill itself is accessible year-round, and there's something quite satisfying about reaching the highest point in the area and realising you've actually got somewhere decent to stand.

It works brilliantly as a half-day stop if you're based at one of the glamping sites nearby - Secret Garden Glamping and Witham Grange Glamping are both within three miles, making this an obvious morning activity before settling into your accommodation. Wagtail Country Park sits five miles away if you're planning a longer stay with more to do. The hill suits walkers most, though families with older kids won't find it taxing.
