Hundreds of butterflies flying freely around you in a tropical greenhouse - that's the draw here, and it genuinely works. The Stratford Butterfly Farm sits just outside Stratford-upon-Avon and houses live butterflies from across the globe in climate-controlled enclosures. You walk through warm, humid spaces watching them feed, mate, and occasionally land on your shoulder if you're lucky.

It's the sort of place that captivates young children for a solid hour or so. They'll be mesmerised by the sheer number of colours and patterns on display. Adults with any interest in natural history find it absorbing too - the farm includes information boards about different species and their lifecycles, so you're not just gawping.
