About St Non's Chapel and Well

The ruins sit on the cliffs above St Non's Bay, a few minutes' walk south of Haverfordwest, and there's something properly moving about standing where they are. St Non was the mother of St David, Wales' patron saint, and this chapel dates back to medieval times - though what remains now is mostly 16th-century stonework and a lot of atmosphere. The well itself still flows down below, accessed via a steep path if you're determined. Most visitors spend 20 to 30 minutes here, reading the information board, taking photos of the rugged coastline, and wandering round the simple remains.

It's the kind of place that appeals to history types and anyone interested in Celtic Christianity, rather than families looking for entertainment. The walk down is manageable but the return climb is a bit steeper than you'd expect, so decent shoes matter. Free to visit, as far as I can tell - there's no gate, no visitor centre, just the bones of the chapel against the Pembrokeshire sky.

If you're camping nearby - Pembrokeshire Meadows is your best bet locally at 0.6 miles away - this works well as a short morning detour before heading to bigger attractions. It's not dramatic enough to plan your whole trip around, but it's absolutely worth 45 minutes if you're already in the area exploring the coast. The cliffs have genuine appeal, and the sense of pilgrimage history gives the place real character.
