St Mary, Claxby

The church sits quietly in the village of Claxby, a few miles south of Market Rasen, and it's genuinely worth stopping for if you're exploring this corner of Lincolnshire on foot or between park visits. St Mary is a proper medieval church, the kind where you can actually feel the weight of centuries - not overdone with Victorian restoration, just honest stone and history.

Inside, the chancel and nave reward a slow walk-through. There's real character here without the fussy gilt and marble you get at the famous cathedral stops.
