St Catherine's Gorseinon

The church sits on a gentle rise in Gorseinon, a few miles north of Swansea town centre - you'll spot it from the road, solid and unadorned, the kind of Welsh stone building that's quietly been there longer than anyone can quite remember. St Catherine's is genuinely worth a detour if you're into ecclesiastical architecture or just fancy a proper quiet moment away from Swansea's seafront bustle.

Inside, it's modest but dignified. Victorian restoration sits alongside medieval bones, and there's that particular smell of old hymn books and stone that you either love or find a bit melancholy.
