Spingfields Fun Park and Pony Centre

Smaller kids absolutely love this place - it's got that proper family-run feel that the big commercial parks often lack. The pony centre forms the heart of the attraction, where children can meet Shetlands and ride gentle ponies under supervision. Fair warning though: the 'fun park' element consists of fairly basic outdoor play equipment and a few modest rides rather than anything too thrilling.

Families with children under 10 will get the best value here. The pony experiences are genuinely well-run, and staff clearly know their animals. There's also indoor play areas for when Cornwall's weather turns, which it inevitably does. Don't expect Alton Towers - this is more village fete than theme park, but that's rather the point.

Location-wise, you're perfectly placed between Indian Queens and the coast, making it a decent wet-weather backup if you're staying at White Acres or Newquay Holiday Park. The website suggests checking opening times before travelling, which is wise advice for any smaller attraction. Allow a good half day here, possibly longer if your little ones are pony-mad. It's the sort of place where time seems to slow down properly - no bad thing when you're on holiday.
