Sheepwalk Clump

A proper woodland walk rather than a destination in itself, Sheepwalk Clump sits just outside Driffield and makes for a solid hour or so of rambling through beech and oak. The trees here are thick enough that you lose the sense of being in Yorkshire's gently rolling landscape - it feels more closed-in, which some will find peaceful and others slightly claustrophobic depending on the weather.

There's not much to "do" beyond walking the paths and spotting the occasional dog walker or local out for their constitutional. The woodland itself is pleasant enough, with decent tree cover that keeps things cool even on warm days, though it's hardly dramatic. The paths can get muddy after rain, so proper boots matter.

Walkers will appreciate this more than families with young children - there's no playground, no café, and frankly, kids might find it boring after twenty minutes of trees looking much like other trees. It works best as part of a larger walking route rather than a standalone trip. The nearest proper bases are Seaways Glamping and Camping or Yorkshire Wolds Glamping, both within striking distance, and either would give you the flexibility to combine this with other woodland walks in the area without it feeling like a wasted journey.

Free to access, no facilities to speak of. Go if you're already in the neighbourhood; don't travel specifically for it.
