Sea Moor Hill

The walk up Sea Moor Hill is properly steep, but the moorland views across the Worth Valley make it worthwhile. You're looking at rough grassland and bracken most of the way - nothing fancy, just honest Yorkshire fell terrain. From the summit you get a genuine sense of the Pennine landscape unfolding around Keighley, all rolling hills and stone walls disappearing into the distance.

It's the kind of walk that suits people who actually enjoy walking rather than those after a gentle stroll with refreshment stops. Families with older kids will manage fine; younger ones might find the gradient tedious. Give yourself a solid couple of hours if you're taking photos and pausing to catch your breath at the top.

The peak sits within easy reach of several caravan parks - Brown Bank is barely half a mile away, which makes it a natural fit for a holiday base in the area. You could easily combine this with exploring the broader moorland hereabouts. The nearest town of Keighley offers the usual provisions, though honestly you'll want to pack water and something to eat before heading up.

Timing-wise, go on a clear day or not at all. Moorland mist strips away the whole point of the walk. Spring and autumn are cracking times - summer can feel a bit airless up there, winter's just muddy. Free to walk, obviously. No facilities at the summit, so come prepared.
