Scarnber Hill

The walk up Scarnber Hill rewards you with proper views across the Yorkshire Dales, though it's not a famous peak and you won't find crowds fighting for space at the summit. From Skipton, it's an easy drive into the limestone country around Malham, and Scarnber sits nicely as part of a bigger day out rather than a destination on its own.

It's a straightforward fell walk - nothing technical, nothing that will leave you gasping. The climb takes about an hour, depending on your pace and which route you fancy. The terrain is typical Dales: grass, a few rough patches, the occasional muddy section if it's been wet.
