Tucked away just outside Newport, this modest royal garden feels more like a well-kept secret than a formal attraction. Princess Beatrice Garden was created to honour Queen Victoria's youngest daughter, who spent considerable time on the island at Osborne House nearby.

The garden itself is fairly compact - you'll see it all in about thirty minutes unless you're particularly keen on reading every plaque. What makes it worthwhile is the thoughtful planting and the peaceful atmosphere, especially on weekday mornings when you might have it to yourself.
